Nude photo or pornography?

The official term "pornography" appeared in the beginning of the 20th century. It got into the language thanks to roundup of policy in 1900 in Paris. Policemen found 80000 of cards that were considered to be vulgar and as a result were named pornography. The society was shocked not by the number of cards but by the popularity it got.

At that time nobody even thought about making difference between beautiful and vulgar in the human body. Philosophers and artists tried to do that.

Discussions on the topic of differences between erotic and pornography continue till now. And of course it is normal because the understanding of beautiful and ugly, sexy and vulgar change in dependence on historical period, place, culture, nation. Photos that were considered to be pornography in the end of 19th century nowadays are considered to be decent.

Not every nation and culture considered the human body to be vulgar, and even still there is no exact definition of pornography as well as criteria that allows to define whether the object is a pornography or not.

The difference that was made between them is that erotica doesn't show genitals. But nowadays nude photos allow the image of genitals too. Pornography is physiological and biological representation of the fact. And the aim of porno is to stimulate the sexual desire. But the main aim of erotica is to show aesthetic perception of the body.

Erotica is art and beauty expressed in nude photos but not the expression of sexual parts of the body.

Besides, the adequate understanding of the nude photo depends on the level of culture and intellectual abilities of a person. The erotic, beautiful and sexual for one person can seem ugly, vulgar and unacceptable for another person.

Internet is full of sites that give nude photos, but in reality these sites show pornography. It can be easily seen by the poses and the background of the photos. Nude photos can show different parts of the body. Even the photos of hands and feet may be considered to be nude photos.

But the difference between these genres depends on person and is very subjective. Every person can choose what to consider pornography and what to consider art.
